Weekly Update February 15, 2019

Students at UCLA

What’s New in the OMC Family:

This week, Mrs. Sand took the students to UCLA for their second field trip of the year!  The students participated in a guided tour and learned interesting facts about the university, about majors and programs offered at UCLA, and what college life is like for a student at UCLA.  Students learned the difference between north campus and south campus, the inverted fountain, and also walked through the Powell Library (this reminded some students of Hogwarts)!  The students were also able to eat lunch in Ackerman and explore the huge selection that the student store has to offer.  Even with the rain, the students had an amazing time and checked-off another university that they got to visit!

ASB: The OMCHS Griffins participated in a fun team building activity, which helped them continue to grow in the soft skills of communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.  Hard work and academic responsibility are balanced with relationship building and good old fashioned laughter!
